Deer huntin’ and the first year

There isn’t anything more beautiful than 10,000 acres in the Texas hill country. The air is so fresh it revives your soul, the dad and i in the standwildlife abounds, and there isn’t another human in sight. The idea for the name, Merfs Condiments was born in the total darkness of a one room cabin here last winter. After some ruminating, the concept was born, and all the credit for the name, Merfs, goes to my brother, Tom Schexnaildre.

I’ve had an epic amount of fun hanging out with the business namesake, Murphy Schexnaildre.

He’s a silly, emotional, stubborn basset hound, and he makes the time here at the ranch very comical.

Hooray for the first year of business! We did it! We did it! Thank you so much to each and every one of you that’s supported me through this journey. It’s been an incredible year, and Merfs Condiments has been more successful than I could have ever dreamed.

Just so y’all know, Merfs Condiments will be attending the Parker’s Farmer’s Market starting on January 18, 2015, with dates intermittent until the start of the summer farmer’s markets. We hope to cultivate a new following down in Parker, Colorado.

Chicken Wings, and other things

Well, hello there!

What a fantastic holiday season! Only a couple more weeks, and we will be ringing in 2015. Merfs Condiments will be turning one! A serious thank you to all the Merfs’ lovers out there. I couldn’t do it without you.

I told y’all last time that I’d start posting recipes. So, here’s my favorite one (I consider chicken wings a very important food group).

Oven Fried Chicken Wings with Merfs’ Peaches & Scream Hot sauce

(serves two)

Prep time: 5 minutes

Cook time: 40 minutes

2 lbs bone-in chicken wings

1 bottle Peaches & Scream hot sauce

2 tbsp oil



Preheat oven to 425*. Toss chicken wings in salt, pepper, and oil. Place on sheet pan and toss into the oven for 20 minutes. Take out and flip. Cook for 20 more minutes. Take out of oven, throw into a bowl, and toss with Peaches & Scream hot sauce. Enjoy!!

Hiya, Merfs’ lovers.

As we’ve entered holiday season, life has gotten busy, hasn’t it? I love this time of year; it always makes me nostalgic.

New news: Merfs is growing at an incredible rate! I’ve really loved all of your support as my business has taken off. YOU, the customers, friends, and family members, are the reason my first year has been so fruitful. So, THANKS to all of you.

Don’t forget that Merfs Condiments will be attending the Denver Homemade Handmade market on Sunday December 14. I really hope to see you all there. These cute little bottles of hot sauce make great Christmas gifts! I will be running a special.. 3 bottles for $15.. so y’all come load up!
