- 2 cups blueberries
- 1 cup strawberries
- ½ cup water
- 3 tbsp honey
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- Pinch of salt
- Juice of ½ lemon
- Merfs Her Majesty Hot Sauce
- Sourdough bread
- Cheddar cheese
- Gruyere cheese
- Brie cheese
- Butter
- Make the compote: In a pan, heat up the blueberries (save a small handful) strawberries, honey, salt, cinnamon, and water. Bring to a boil, then simmer until it reaches a thick consistency. Deglaze the pan with the juice of ½ lemon and add ½ bottle of Her Majesty Hot Sauce, mixing well. Set aside and let cool.
- Prep your grilled cheese: Cut 2 thick slices of sourdough bread. Shred the cheddar and gruyere cheese, and slice the brie.
- Assemble the grilled cheese: Butter the outsides of each slice of bread. Flip them over and spread a layer of the spicy berry compote on the insides of both slices. Add a handful of shredded cheese and a few slices of brie. Top with the reserved fresh blueberries and drizzle with Merfs Her Majesty Hot Sauce. Cover and heat in a pan on both sides until the cheese is fully melted.
- Serve: Slice in half, dunk in extra Merfs Her Majesty Hot Sauce, and enjoy!
